By road

Driving to the start point can be a great way of extending your holiday. We have found that hotels listed on the Logis de France website are of a reliable quality.  Cheap ferry deals can be picked up by visiting ferryprice.com. If you want help in planning the best route, have a look at the fantastic AA European route planner, which even gives you an indication of how long your journey will take.

There is ample parking at the Hotel Santiago in Hendaye and there is a fairly simple rail journey from Cerbere to Hendaye at the end of the challenge. The journey takes 8 hours and involves a change at Toulouse. The Railway station in Hendaye is a 5 mins walk from the hotel (taxis are available).

By Rail:

Lessen your carbon footprint and take the train - it could even save you a few pounds! Both Hendaye and Cerbere are of high speed rail links with Paris and Eurostar connections from Waterloo make this a very viable option. The Railway stations in Hendaye is a 5 mins walk from the hotel (taxis are available). If you arrive after 5pm on the Monday we will be able to pick you up from the station.

The hardest part of this journey is buying a ticket! Try the SNCF or Rail Europe websites, if you have no joy then we suggest ringing Rail Europe on 08708 371 371 (UK number).
