This trip has been put
together using Ryan Air flights into Biarritz and departing
from Girona. Airport transfers to the hotel will be provided
to meet the 1505 arrival in Biarritz and we will get you to
Girona by 1600 on the Saturday.

will get you to Stansted with plenty of time to catch the suggested

Indirect flights:
There are Ryan Air connections from most UK airports which
depart from Stansted at around 2100, giving you plenty
of time to make the connection.
AIRPORT TRANSFERS: James or Cathy will meet you in the arrivals hall
by the Baggage reclaim belt;
they will have a Marmot Tours sign.
The transfer from Biarritz Airport to
Hendaye is 30 mins and from Cerbere to Girona Airport is 70
mins.
If you miss your flight or choose to fly after the
arranged meeting time, you will be unable to join the group
transfer and you will be responsible for catching up with the
group (see: Independent travel). Unfortunately, if you do not use the transfer for
any reason, there is no refund available.
Independent travel:
If you want to arrive a few days early, or leave a few days
late there are many other flights options available. We will
be unable to help you with airport transfers. But would be
able to book you additional nights accommodation.
The airport in Biarritz is a short taxi ride from railway
station, from where the are regular trains to Hendaye. The
Hotel Santiago is a 5 mins walk from the station in Hendaye.
At the end of the trip we can book you an extra nights accommodation
in Cerebere, which has regular rail links to Barcolona,
Toulouse and Perpignian.

road:
Driving to the start point can be a great way of extending
your holiday. We have found that hotels listed on the Logis
de France website are of a reliable quality. Cheap
ferry deals can be picked up by visiting ferryprice.com.
If you want help in planning the best route, have a look at
the fantastic AA
European route planner, which even gives you an indication
of how long your journey will take.
There is ample parking at the Hotel Santiago in Hendaye and
there is a fairly simple rail journey from Cerbere to Hendaye
at the end of the challenge. The journey takes 8 hours and involves
a change at Toulouse. The Railway station in Hendaye is a 5
mins walk from the hotel (taxis are available).
By
Rail:
Lessen your carbon footprint and take the train - it could
even save you a few pounds! Both Hendaye and Cerbere are of
high speed rail links with Paris and Eurostar connections from
Waterloo make this a very viable option. The Railway stations
in Hendaye is a 5 mins walk from the hotel (taxis are
available). If you arrive after 5pm on the Monday we will be
able to pick you up from the station.
The hardest part of this journey is buying a ticket! Try the SNCF
