The Raid Pyrenean
Tour
de France 2007: ‘In the Saddle and on the Sidelines’:
Attention
all Tour enthusiasts! Don’t be satisfied with watching the
UK Tour start this year. Come to the Pyrenees for some Mountain Stage action!
We have limited places on this fantastic opportunity to
ride 2 complete Stages of this year’s Tour de France (14 and
15), plus spectate at the famous Plateau de Beille and the
Stage start in Foix.
Our
enthusiasm knows no bounds this year as the Tour passes by our
very own doorstep, so we have put together an itinery which
will both excite and challenge you.
Spend
6 days in the saddle; cycling stage 14 just ahead of the Tour
itself, from Mazamet to the famous Plateau de Beille.
You will pass through beautiful French countryside
before reaching the foothills of the Pyrenees.
Here we let the Pro’s catch us up so we can watch
them race up the Plateau de Beille to the stage finish.
They overtake us in Foix, where we watch them set off
on Stage 15, then following them for a further 2 days cycling
from Foix to Loudenvielle.
On average you will cover 80km and 1340m ascent each
day.
Flights
for these dates will obviously be like goldust, and the prices
will rise quickly. So,
do not hesitate to get in touch with us soon with any queries,
and get your bookings in now.

The
Raid Pyrenean 2007
How
far can you cycle in 100 hours? Are you up for the challenge of cycling from the Atlantic to
the Mediterranean coasts of France, across the backbone of the
Pyrenees? We can
make this goal a reality for you, ensuring your only worries
need be cycling, eating and sleeping along the way!
This
trip is an incredible opportunity to cycle some of the most
beautiful areas in France, taking in many of the cols made
famous by the Tour de France: the Tourmalet, Peyresourde and
Col d’Aubisque, amoungst others.
The physical and mental challenge is created primarily
by the fact that the route organisers, back in the 1950’s,
decided that the distance should be completed in just over 4
days.
We
help as much as we can by providing van support, including
moving your baggage between the booked accommodation, helping
with mechanical problems, providing water and first aid as
needed, as well as giving plenty of general enthusiasm and
encouragement along the way.
Although
your sense of self-achievement would surely be enough at the
completion of this route, you do get a medal and certificate
to show off to friends and family.
