Winter flight timetables have just been released.
For those of you living in the UK, now is the time to think about your winter holiday as Easy jet and Flybe have just released their winter flight timetables. These budget airlines sell their seats very cheaply when the flight is empty and increase the price substantially as the flight fills up. Consequently for most Sundays throughout the winter season flights can currently be snapped up for £6.91 each way (plus taxes). Please note that Christmas, New Year and February half term flights will go up substantially over this weekend. There are currently places on all my winter cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trips. Direct flights to Toulouse are available from Gatwick, Bristol, Manchester and Birmingham. More information can be found on http://www.marmot-tours.co.uk/summaries/winter.htm

People keep coming back - I must be doing something right!
Marmot Tours has now been running for 18 months and I have had the pleasure of bringing over 200 people to the Pyrenees. A few people have already become members of my 'loyal customers' club, by booking on 3 different holidays. They get a 10% discount on all further holidays. However the most staggering statistic is that 65% of people who came on my mountain biking weeks or weekends last year are coming back for exactly the same holiday this year! Yes the biking is that good.

Classic cols of the Tour de France in the press - get the Mail on Sunday on the 3rd July.
Max Wooldridge, a freelance journalist came on my 'Classic Cols' road cycling trip in September last year. With the real Tour about to kick off, the press has finally got around to publishing his articles. Please get the Mail on Sunday this weekend if you are interested in finding out about his adventures. Also, earlier this week the Guardian Unlimited produced an online article - this can be found on http://travel.guardian.co.uk/activities/cycling/story/0,7447,1516498,00.html

Flights are being held for summer walking trips.
There are still a few places left on a couple of my August trekking trips. If you are looking for a real mountain experience away from the crowds then these trips are for you. Flights in August are now extortionately expensive, however I am holding onto a few British Airways seats, so your holiday could still be very reasonable. More information can be found on http://www.marmot-tours.co.uk/summaries/walking.htm

Extra mountain biking week scheduled for September.
My mountain biking week has been proven to deliver a heady cocktail of single-track, scenery and general enjoyment. The riding has been described as the highlights of cross-country biking that just go on forever. The trip is suitable for any biker who has had a taste of single-track and would like more. Top-tips are given throughout the week to help you get the most from the holiday. There is a huge downhill bias, as we take advantage of a vehicle transfer every morning. The trip has already sold out this year, so I have put on another departure from the 4th to 11th September. More info on http://www.marmot-tours.co.uk/summaries/mfa.htm

The Ariegeoise Road Cycling Event - The Marmot team did well.
Last weekend the Marmot Tours team were sweating their way up the 1250m climb of the Plateau de Beille to finish a grueling day in the saddle. This year's race was the biggest yet and attracted 3100 cyclists from all over the world. I organized a holiday offering 4 days to acclimatize and explore the beautiful back roads in preparation for the event. I am please to say that Anne Killick from our group was on the podium, coming 3rd in the over 35's ladies race. A couple of the men came in the top 40 in their age categories. The trip was a big success, so if you are into racing, get the date in next years diary - 19th to 25th June 2006. More info on http://www.marmot-tours.co.uk/summaries/rfa.htm
