The
Plateau de Beille is an excellent place to give dogsledding a
go. There is a dedicated 3km piste around the plateau with
stunning views across to the high peaks of Andorra and into
the valley of Ax far below.
There
are over
60 huskies based up at the Plateau de Beille and there are
various options:
‘Balade’
-
You sit in the sled and are taken on a 3km / 15 minute loop.
There are normally 10 to 15 dogs in the team who are
controlled by an experienced driver. This costs 25 Euros per
person.
‘Musher’
- In this 2.5 hour session, you are trained to drive and
control your own team of up to 5 dogs. Once you have mastered
the basics (cornering and stopping) you will be taken on a
guided loop of the plateau with some off piste. This costs 90
Euros per person.
