Raid Alpine South to North :: Travel

In order to allow you to get the best deals available from the plethora of airlines out there, and to enable you to use your local regional airports, Marmot Tours does not include flights in the cost of their holidays. We do however want to help you plan your travel as much as possible, so have put together some travel sections for each holiday (above). These will hopefully help you regardless of whether you are travelling from the UK or further afield, by air or by land, and using our transfers, or making your way independently to the start of the holiday.
It is fair to say that organising the transport for a point to point cycle trip can be a little complicated and our Raiders come from far and wide so it is difficult to include every bit of information required here. We have timed our group transfers (included in the cost of your Raid) to tie in with the most appropriate flights from the widest range of major and regional airports that we can, but are frequently limited by the airline timetables and route choices so please bear with us.
Included Group Airport transfers
OUT: Nice Airport to Antibes (40 mins)
We are offering two transfers to open up as many flights from the UK regional airports as possible and reduce waiting time.
AM Pick up Nice Airport (T2) approx 11:00 (flights arriving before 10:30)*
PM Pick up Nice Airport (T2) approx 16:30 (flights arriving before 15:00)
If any of the flights below are delayed then the transfer time will naturally be rescheduled. People arriving on the earlier of the flights will be expected to wait at the airport for the later flights to arrive - please bear this in mind when booking flights. If one of the morning flights is significantly delayed we reserve the right to transfer the people that have already arrived and move you to the afternoon transfer.
* It will be possible to check into your hotel room, assemble your bike and go for a strole around the facinating town of Antibles. There are several advantages of taking morning flights, as they tend to be on time an if you bike does not travel on the same flight as you, we will be able to pick it up later later in the day (EJ and BA).
RETURN: Thonons les Bains to Geneva Airport (1hr)
Again we are offering two transfers to open up as many flights from the UK regional airports as possible and reduce waiting time.
AM Drop off Geneva airport 09:20 (flights departing after 11:00)
PM Drop off Geneva airport for 12:50 (flights departing after 16:35)
General Notes re organsiing travel for the Raid
The start date of your holiday (on the website) is Day '0' of our itinerary. You need to book flights for this day if flying into Nice or arriving independently of our transfers to Antibes (the start)
Nice Airport is very well served with flights from many Worldwide destinations and it is easy to get from Nice to the start hotel, so do not feel tied to our airport transfers. See our section on Independent Travel from the Airport to Start Hotel for help on this.
