Transfer day - just arrived in Thonon Les Bains and checking the bikes have survived their journeyIts the official route...Lake Geneva sets a great backdrop to the start of the Raid AlpineTour graffiti on the Col de Ramaz (Day 1) a reminder that great cyclists have been here before us!Coffee time already?very colour coordinated Dunfermiline lads...Lac de Roseland - what a view and what a great descent down from the Col du Pre (1703m)!Cormet de Roseland (1967m) is our 3rd col of the day..The open road...Day 2: Our hotel in La Reculaz, on the shores of the reservoirNext morning - can that be fresh SNOW?  Its August 15th!!!Still smiling despite the conditions..That is officially about 6" of snow on the top of the Col...Col de LFabulous descent from the Col du Mont Cenis down into Italy..We nip into Italy for Day 3, staying in Cesana TorineseA fittingly impressive col marker for an impressive climb - the Col dDay 4 ends in Vars.  Le Vallon gives us another great nights stay with good food and hospitalityWhat a morning to be out on the bike... the top of the Col de Vars is just stunning!loving it ... Go Gordon Go!Margo soaks up some raysA stunning route up the Cime de la Bonnette but..its a blumin long way! The infamous Cime de la Bonnette - at 2802m, the highest col in Europe...OUCH!Made it.. Well done Nick (or is it Rupert?)Nathan settles in for a bit on the col.. not a bad spot for some sunbathing..This is a  great climb up to Beuil but oof, it does get a bit steep, and it is the 3rd climb of the day..
